This is a living roadmap. Each phase builds on the last. Completed phases are marked. The current phase is active. Future phases are planned but subject to change as development evolves.
✓ PHASE 1 — THE FIRST WORLD
STATUS: COMPLETE
The foundation. Phaser 3 game engine, TypeScript, Vite build system. Procedural terrain generation with mining and block placement. Basic physics, collision detection, and player movement. The world exists — a single terrain type, destructible and buildable.

✓ PHASE 2 — SURVIVAL

The game becomes a game. Crash landing intro sequence. Oxygen, water, and health systems with a survival HUD. Crafting system with recipes and resource management. Shelter and power grid construction. Signal/story progression. Death, respawn, and save/load persistence.

The world opens up. Six distinct biomes spanning 800×400 blocks — Grasslands, Desert, Swamp, Mountains, Ice Fields, and Volcanic zones. Underground lighting system with dynamic light sources. Full-screen map with fog of war. Equipment upgrades across five slots. Scanner pulse system. Story progression through eight data fragments. Ancient facility with terminal activation. The endgame objective emerges: REACH ORBIT.

STATUS: IN DEVELOPMENT
This is where Orbit2D earns its name. The player builds a launch facility, constructs a spacecraft component by component, and launches into orbit for the first time. Zero-gravity gameplay. Docking with the mysterious orbital facility. Building a personal space station. Surface-to-orbit logistics. Discovering an ancient spacecraft from outside the system. Detecting a signal pointing beyond the current world.
